Schedules and ProgrammingGoverment Channel 22
Serves as an impartial, objective, noncommercial, community resource to increase citizens awareness and understanding of municipal government and to encourage citizen participation in the process of democracy at the local level by televising the conduct of public business by government bodies:
* Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Planning and Zoning Meetings. * Informational programs by either city officials or employees relating to their respective departments. * Programming by government agencies that are determined to be of interest to local citizens. Government Access does not include programs which are sponsored by individuals or non-governmental entities; or programs which provide political commentary or opinions rendered other than during the conduct of official business by a governmental body. Examples of Government Access are: * Municipal primary and election coverage, city sponsored events which include cultural and economic development programs. * Programs produced in conjunction with the Health, Airport, Highway, Fire, Police and other city agencies. * Programs produced by the US Military, US Center for Disease Control and Environmental Protection Agency. This is a department of the Manchester School District. Government Access shares facilities and works with the MCTV Educational Access Education Channel 16
Education Television works directly with the Manchester School District to inform, highlight and educate local citizens of the Manchester School District’s programs, events and goals, as well as to provide educational opportunities for students in the area of communications:
* School district meetings such as Board of School Committee, C & I and Finance Meetings. * Educational programs by school district staff, officials, students and programs about local private educational institutions Pre-Kindergarten - Graduate Level. * Programming by educational agencies that are determined to be an educational resource material for students, staff, parents and the greater community. * A media/video center for students, staff and parent training, enrichment and after school programs, media literacy Pre-Kindergarten - 12th grade and vocational training. Educational Television does not include any programs produced by individuals other than school district staff, students, and government approved and accredited education agencies. Examples of Educational are: * Concerts, sports events, discussions, curriculum discussions, school district special events. * Programs produced in conjunction with educational agencies such as NASA, Carnegie Foundation and Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This is a department of the Manchester School District. Education Television shares facilities and works with MCTV Government Access. |
